Details of Adin Hill's big new contract leaked.
The Golden Knights goaltender already has a Stanley Cup to his name, and now he's about to add some zeroes to his bank account.
There was no question that Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Adin Hill would be on the receiving end of a significant raise after leading his team all the way to a Stanley Cup Championship, the only question was how big of a raise it would be?
Although there has as of yet been no official announcement from the Vegas Golden Knights, details of what Hill's new deal will look like are already emerging.
On Sunday, National Hockey League insider Elliotte Friedman reported that he expects Hill will receive a short term deal, just 2 years, but with that will come a hefty raise with Hill expected to earn somewhere in the neighborhood of $4.9 million per season.
This season, Hill was playing out the final year of a 2 year deal he signed with the San Jose Sharks in August of 2021, a deal that carried an average annual value and salary cap hit of $2.175 million per season. This means that not only is Hill expected to double his NHL income moving forward, but the Golden Knights will now also have to maneuver around a cap hit that is expected to be over double what it was the previous season.
