Despite the Boston Bruins blowing their 3-2 lead late last night against the rival Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena, they would ultimately emerge victorious thanks to an overtime-winning goal by captain Brad Marchand.
And sniper David Pastrnak, who scored and also assisted on Marchand's OT winner, made sure to rub a little salt in the wound of the Leafs afterward.
"It's always fun to win, especially here," Pastrnak said with a smile.
It was Pastrnak who broke in alone on goaltender Joseph Woll, only to have his backhand attempt turned aside. However, Pastrnak immediately retrieved the puck and fed Marchand at the side of the net, who promptly deposited it past the diving Woll for the thrilling winner.
"Marchy created an amazing turnover," Pastrnak said of the overtime winner. "I saw him stop at the net so I just tried to get it as quick as possible. Great handle by him. So happy for him. Big goal for him."
