The season for Calgary Flames backup goaltender Dan Vladar is officially over.
The Flames announced earlier today that he'll be undergoing hip surgery, and will be unavailable for the remainder of this current campaign. The goal will be to ensure that Vladar will be healthy enough to begin next season.
From the official press release:
"The Flames announced today goaltender Dan Vladar will receive season-ending hip surgery next week. The surgery will allow Vladar the rehabilitation period required for a full recovery and to ensure he is ready to start the 2024-25 NHL season on schedule.
Additionally, Jacob Markstrom has been cleared for full practice and game participation from his lower-body injury while Dustin Wolf will remain on the Flames roster on an emergency recall basis."
Vladar owns a record of 8-9-2 with a 3.62 goals against average, .882 save percentage and no shutouts for the Flames this season.
