Critical update released on Thatcher Demko
The Canucks goaltender has been absent since Round 1.
The Vancouver Canucks currently enjoy a 3-2 series lead over the rival Edmonton Oilers in Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and are looking to punch their ticket to the Western Conference Final for the 1st time since 2011 in tomorrow night's Game 6 at Edmonton's Rogers Place.
And as you know, they've been without the services of goaltender Thatcher Demko since midway through their Round 1 series against the Nashville Predators. While Casey DeSmith was the initial choice of head coach Rick Tocchet to replace Demko, they've since decided to roll with 3rd stringer Arturs Silovs.
Silvos has racked up a record of 5-3 with a 2.62 goals against average and .907 save percentage while Demko works to get himself back into game shape.
According to Tocchet, Demko is making progress but isn't quite ready to return to action.
Tomorrow night's Game 6 will begin at 8:00 PM EST. Can the Canucks close things out, or will the Oilers manage to force a Game 7?
