Could Brad Treliving deal William Nylander to his old team?
Could Nylander be heading up north?

It's going to be one of the more intriguing story lines the longe that it drags on.
As you know, the Toronto Maple Leafs are nearly $10 million in the hole in terms of the salary cap, and after their flurry of signings that included the likes of Tyler Bertuzzi, Max Domi and Ryan Reaves, new general manager Brad Treliving will have no choice but to shed some salary in order to get compliant before the start of next season.
Meanwhile, scoring forward William Nylander is entering the final year of his current contract, and is reported to be in a standoff with Leafs management with regards to the particulars of a new deal. He's rumored to be looking for around $10 million AAV, while the Leafs are said to be uncomfortable with anything over $8 million AAV.
Could Nylander be on the move, and could it even be to the team that Treliving was in charge of?
Rob Ellis of NHLTradeRumor.com has put forward a significant trade proposal that would see Nylander sent by Treliving to the Flames in exchange for Noah Hanifin and Mikael Backlund, with the latter two having half of their salaries retained. Both Hanifin and Backlund have indicated that they'd like to be part of what has already been an exodus of players from the organization, despite hard-nosed and old school coach Darryl Sutter having not been retained.
Just how strange would Nylander look in the red and yellow of the Flames?
