Connor McDavid takes over first in Art Ross Trophy race.

There is a new man standing atop this season's leaderboard for the Art Ross Trophy.

On Saturday afternoon, Edmonton Oilers star forward Connor McDavid put on a clinic against the Anaheim Ducks. McDavid would not only close the gap on the lead for the Art Ross Trophy, he wouldn't just tie Tampa Bay Lightning star forward Nikita Kucherov for first place, but he would in fact do both of those before passing Kucherov to overtake the lead with a 3 point outing.

McDavid kicked off his 3 point day with an incredible goal, turning on the jets and burning past the defender before fooling Duck goaltender John Gibson to make it 2-0 for the Oilers. This really was a masterpiece on the part of the Oilers captain.

McDavid's second goal of the game would tie him with Kucherov for the league lead in points.

McDavid would finish off his 3 point day with a great assist to set up Zach Hyman, something we've seen a few times this season already.

McDavid now leads the league with a whopping 125 points on the season.
