Coach Laviolette provides an update on Adam Fox's injury... and Rangers fans aren't happy
So... what's the plan now, Blueshirts fans? Still push for the playoffs?
In case you missed it yesterday, The New York Rangers placed star defenseman Adam Fox on injured reserve with an upper body injury.
Fox left Tuesday's game against the New York Islanders, but head coach Peter Laviolette said post-game that the team was hopeful that Fox would be back before the end of the season. Today though, Laviolette didn't sound so optimistic on his earlier assessment. Today Laviolette told reporters that he isn't sure when Fox will return and that they'll have to re-evaluate him as he progresses through his injury recovery.
The 27 year old Fox has five goals and 48 points in 58 games with the Rangers this season.
With their top defenseman out of action for potentially the rest of the season, it'll be interesting to see what the Rangers do at the trade deadline in a week's time. Do they become sellers? Or do they continue to push for a playoff spot?
