Canucks owner Aquilini addresses rumors of hiring Marc Bergevin
Is the former Habs GM the right fit for the Canucks?

Vancouver Canucks owner Francesco Aquilini and interim GM Stan Smyl met with the media earlier today to discuss the team's dismissal of former GM Jim Benning and former head coach Travis Green.
After making prepared statements both Aquilini and Smyl took questions from the media and, most interestingly, Aquilini was asked specifically about his relationship with former Montreal Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin and if Bergevin is in consideration for the GM job in Vancouver.
While Aquilini dodged the question a bit, he did admit in a roundabout way that Bergevin will be considered.
Check it out:
"I know Marc... I think Marc wants to just take it easy for a minute. Anything's possible, I'm not going to rule anything out."
- Francesco Aquilini
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if we hear a LOT of names linked to the GM job in Vancouver between now and when they ultimately make a hire. Aquilini has made it clear that the team will take its time looking for the right fit and will not rush into a hiring. So, while Bergevin may be making the headlines tonight, it could be someone else next week. Stay tuned.
