Canada leads the latest odds to win the 2025 Stanley Cup
The drought came close to ending in 2024 - will it in 2025?
The Edmonton Oiler will be dealing with the sting of having dropped Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Final, meaning that they've now won 15 postseason games but fell short by one in both of their last appearances in the championship round. What's even more painful is that both losses came against southern expansion teams, the Carolina Hurricanes in 2006 and the Florida Panthers this spring.
The good news for Oilers fans who are still feeling the doldrums of having come so close to the mountain top is that Edmonton leads the latest odds to win the Stanley Cup in the spring of 2025. According to FanDuel, the Oilers are currently listed at +850 odds to be the last team standing next year.
Additionally, the Toronto Maple Leafs are the second ranked Canadian-based squad at +1500. Meanwhile, the defending champion Panthers, who have already lost several key contributors to their first ever title, are second overall at +950 odds.
Can the Oilers become the second straight team to lose in the Stanley Cup Final only to be victorious the following season?
