Brutal injury updates on Kaprizov and Gustavsson.

A terrible day of news for the Minnesota Wild who lost two of their top stars over the weekend.

The Minnesota Wild saw two of their top players go down over the weekend and unfortunately the updates are not looking good thus far.

On Monday morning, Minnesota Wild insider Mike Russo revealed that both Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov and Wild goaltender Filip Gustavsson would be out for the next few weeks... at least. The news around Kaprizov sounds better with the forward expected to be out for 1-2 weeks, but the Gustavsson situation sounds a bit more concerning. According to Russo, Gustavsson is scheduled to undergo further testing on Tuesday, but in spite of this has already been ruled out "at least a couple of weeks."

That certainly sounds like a scenario where Gustavsson could be out long term, a major catastrophe for the Wild should it come to pass.

Although it isn't exactly clear how Gustavsson suffered his injury, we do know that Kaprizov was injured off of the back of a series of cross checks from Winnipeg Jets defenseman Brendan Dillon.

Stay tuned for more updates in the coming days.
