Bruins trade Charlie Coyle in massive trade!

The Boston Bruins have traded forward Charlie Coyle to the Colorado Avalanche. The return going back to Boston includes Casey Mittelstadt. The Avs will also receive a 2026 fifth-round pick while the Bruins get forward prospect Will Zellers and a 2025 second-round selection.

Coyle has 15 goals and 22 points in 64 games this season with Boston. He is in the fifth season of a six-year, $31.5 million with an AAV of $5.25 million.
Selected in the first round by the San Jose Sharks in 2010, Coyle has appeared in 931 career NHL games, scoring 187 goals with 472 points, split between the Minnesota Wild and Bruins.
As for Mittelstadt, he is in the first year of a three-year, $17.25 million contract with an AAV of $5.75 million, and has collected 11 goals and 34 points in 63 outings this season.
He was acquired by Colorado last March from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for defenseman Bowen Byram. In 420 career NHL games, he has 77 goals and 230 points split between the Sabres and Avalanche.
