Bruce Boudreau on his way to help out the Maple Leafs?
See why Toronto needs him so badly and how the beloved coach could be hired:
The Toronto Maple Leafs may be winning games, but one aspect of it needs to improve badly. The power-play has been brutal and could eventually start costing the Leafs this season, and one suggestion was brought on that could make all the difference in Toronto.
Nick Alberga of the Leafs Morning Take pleaded on social media for the Maple Leafs to bring on former NHL head coach Bruce Boudreau, who could be used as a power-play consultant.
“There’s no cap for coaching staffs.
“Bring in Bruce Boudreau, who’s dying to work for this team, as a PP consultant.”
Fans in Toronto would absolutely love to have Boudreau back, he who was in fact selected by the Maple Leafs back in 1975 and played a total of 141 NHL games with Toronto as well as the Chicago Blackhawks.
Retiring as a player in 1992, Boudreau got into coaching, winning the Calder Cup in 2006 before being named head coach of the Washington Capitals in 2007. He was also the bench boss for the Anaheim Ducks, Minnesota Wild and Vancouver Canucks, with a record of 617-342-128, and is currently the league’s second winningest coach in history based off win percentage.
And the cherry on top: Boudreau is a huge fan of the Maple Leafs!
I mean, why not bring him on to work with assistant coach Marc Savard and make the special teams better?!
This would be like a Christmas fairy tale. Wouldn’t love to see Boudreau back in the NHL again?
