We have an absolutely bonkers report out of Russia.
While there were rumblings of a potential trade around Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin, following the Capitals elimination at the hands of the Pittsburgh Penguins, it always seemed like more likely that an emotional over-reaction to another playoff exit was fueling the fire.
Now however according to Russian/Latvian website Delfi the Capitals have received a very serious offer from a rival National Hockey League team, and now suddenly it seems very real.
According to the Delfi report, the Calgary Flames have offered the Capitals 20-year-old defenseman Oliver Kylington, 20-year-old center Sam Bennett, and not one, but two first round draft choices for Ovechkin.
Needless to say this is a blockbuster rumor at this point, and whether or not you agree or disagree on with the notion of Ovechkin being traded, there is no doubt this is a serious offer from the Flames.
