Time to Call It a Career
In 2001, Brandon Bochenski was drafted in the 7th round (223 overall) at the NHL entry draft. After one season in the NHL and two seasons with Binghampton Senators, he was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks where he played 2 seasons.
He played 156 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) for several teams (Senators, Blackhawks, Bruins, Ducks, Predators and Lightning) before serving as captain of the Barys Astana in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
“Ex-forward Ottawa, Chicago, Boston, Anaheim, Tampa Bay and #TeamUSA Brandon Bochenski retired” reported Anton Rudnev, Russian KHL insider.
Bochenski was amongst the league’s top scorers over the following seven seasons with Barys Astana. On May 29, 2017, despite pleas from Astana to continue with the club, Bochenski opted to retire from professional hockey to concentrate on his family. He left as the top scoring foreign player to compete in the KHL with 397 points in 399 total games.
