Brady Tkachuk manhandles Conor Garland like a child.
Conor Garland bites off more than he can chew and gets manhandled by Brady Tkachuk.
There's an old saying that seems extremely appropriate here, you mess with the bull and you get the horns.
On Saturday night, Vancouver Canucks forward Conor Garland would bite off more than he could chew when he did his best to play the physical game with Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk. Garland would attempt to rub Tkachuk out along the boards but the Senators' captain was in no mood and instead ended up manhandling Garland with what looked like the greatest of ease.
Garland would attempt to deliver a hit to Tkachuk but the bigger man would remain on his feet and as Garland continued to grind him out along the boards Tkachuk would use his size and weight to his advantage, shrugging Garland off and slamming him to the ice in the process. Garland would end up flat on his back with both skates pointing straight up at the sky as Tkachuk simply skated away as though nothing had happened.
Here's a look at the rather comical looking replay of the incident:
You can hardly blame Tkachuk for being in no mood to deal with Garland, who is a notorious pest on the ice and one that is generally very good at his job, after having a pretty tough week. Tkachuk suffered some serious damage to his face and mouth earlier in the week and required several stitches, as well as some extensive dental work, to repair the damage. In fact Tkachuk looked so bad after taking the puck to the face that he described the way he looked as a face only fit for radio,
