From one brother to another!

The Florida Panthers have continued their absolutely historic run, advancing to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 1996.

And the driving force behind their playoff tear is first year Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk, who is easily one of the front runners to win the Conn Smythe Trophy as postseason MVP if his team ultimately wins the Stanley Cup over the Vegas Golden Knights.

And as you know, Mathew’s brother Brady is the captain of the Ottawa Senators, and he’s certainly hoping to be able to enjoy the same postseason success that his brother has soon.

“It's incredible to see all the support [for Matthew] and seeing that and being around that, that's something that I really want to provide to Ottawa, and it's been a couple of years since we've been in this situation,” Tkachuk said. "Everybody wants to see us in the playoffs, but it's the excitement that comes with that and making a run and believing in yourself."

The younger Tkachuk brother has yet to play in a single postseason game; the last time the Senators qualified was 2017.

However, he’s more than happy to cheer on his brother, even last year to the irking of some Senators fans when he was a regular at the Scotiabank Saddledome to cheer on Matthew with his former team in the Calgary Flames.

There really is no atmosphere in sports like the playoffs, and Brady is hoping to bring that excitement back to Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa.

"I've been hearing from the staff who've all experienced the 2017 run how electric not only the CTC [Canadian Tire Centre] was but the whole city,” he said. “That's something I want to experience, and it's created this extra level of motivation for me to not only get there but have that belief that anything can happen."
