Brad Marchand targets Connor Bedard yet again
Baptism by fire for the young rookie phenom.

Chicago Blackhawks young phenom forward Connor Bedard, whom they were able to draft 1st overall this summer after winning the NHL Draft Lottery, has shown that he's every bit as worthy of having been taken so high. And for the second time this season, he's had to put up with the pesky antics of notorious Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand.
As you may remember, it was Marchand who was jawing at Bedard in their regular season opener earlier this month. And during last night's game at United Center in Chicago, Marchand once again targeted Bedard, though not in a nefarious manner.
And it certainly didn't appear to bother Bedard that much judging by the big grin on his face.
Take a look back at what Marchand had to say about Bedard earlier in the month ahead of their first time facing one another:
Reporter: ”Do you have any advice for Connor Bedard tonight?”
Marchand: ”No, I don’t.”
Reporter: ”What are you gonna say to him?”
Marchand: ”Nothing. He’s a great player. You leave a guy like that alone.”
Reporter: ”You came into the league as a relatively smaller guy, he’s a relatively smaller guy—”
Marchand: ”I’m bigger than him.”
Bedard certainly is going to have to get used to him having a target on his back from the opposition, much in the same way that the young Sidney Crosby had upon his entrance into the NHL after being taken 1st overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins.
