Brad Marchand’s mom spills the beans on his status hours before Game 6
More details here:
Earlier on Friday, the Boston Bruins and head coach Jim Montgomery revealed that captain and star forward Brad Marchand is a game-time decision for tonight’s Game 6 in the second round series against the Florida Panthers.
However, if you ask Marchand’s mother, like News 7 did, she is adamant that he will be in the lineup:
Marchand was injured during the first period of Game 3, and hasn’t played since, but could return in Game 6 on Friday. He suffered a hit to the head from Panthers forward Sam Bennett, though no call was made on the play. The injury is said to be an upper-body ailment.
But according to Mommy Marchand, nothing that will keep him out of the do or die contest tonight in Boston.
Getting Marchand back would be a significant boost for Boston as he is tied with winger Jake DeBrusk for the Bruins’ lead in points (10) during the postseason. His seven assists currently lead the team in that department.
Boston is hoping to push the series to seven contests, especially if goalie Jeremy Swayman puts out another stellar performance, like he did in Game 5 when he turned aside 28 of the 29 shots that he faced in a 2-1 Bruins victory.
