Brad Marchand goes after Connor Bedard again in Bruins-Hawks 2nd game of the season
Again!

The Boston Bruins have picked up where they left off after setting an NHL record with 65 wins and 135 points in 2022-23! The Bruins improved to 6-0 with a 3-0 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks despite significant changes in the offseason, notably losing their top two centres in then-captain Patrice Bergeron and veteran forward David Krejci to retirement. Several things haven’t changed however, including new captain Brad Marchand’s feistiness on the ice!
During the first game of the season between the Bruins and the Blackhawks in Boston, first-overall pick Connor Bedard scored his first - and only - goal of the season, but was then targeted by Marchand, who attempted to get under his skin following the star’s first career goal.
This is just Marchand's style and Bedard had to expect that the Bruins' star forward would get him a special welcome.
Marchand probably felt he succeeded since on Tuesday he was at it again, being the jerk he can be, squeezing Bedard against the boards in such an annoying manner!
Pure Marchand.
This only added to Bedard’s frustration as he appeared to put the Blackhawks up 1-0 with a sick snipe followed by an even more sick goal celebration, but the tally was then overturned. The goal was called back after a Coach’s Challenge revealed that the play was off-side at the Bruins’ blue-line. This would’ve been Bedard’s third of the season. The overturned goal was also a wake up call to pay attention for Boston. They did not look back after this and went on to shut down the Hawks 3-0.
The kid was robbed and then just nagged by Marchand as a cherry on top. Welcome to the NHL.
