Boston Bruins release official update on Brad Marchand.

The Boston Bruins have finally provided an official update on their injured captain, Brad Marchand.

The Boston Bruins have confirmed the worst fears of many of their fans.

On Saturday, I brought you an unofficial report that suggested Brad Marchand would miss at least the next 2 games of the second round Stanley Cup playoff series against the Florida Panthers, and it would now appear that the Bruins have confirmed at least half of that report.

On Sunday, the Bruins officially confirmed that Marchand will not play later tonight when the Bruins once against face the Panthers in Game 4 of that series. That is a huge blow to a Bruins team that has already allowed the Panthers to take a 2-1 lead in this series, and that was with Marchand on the ice for the majority of those first 3 games.

The Bruins have not indicated when Marchand might be able to return, but if that initial report was indeed accurate it sounds like we won't be seeing him in Game 5 either.

Stay tuned for more on this developing story.
