Blackhawks roast Paul Bissonnette over Connor Bedard comments.
The Chicago Blackhawks have fired back at Paul Bissonnette over his recent comments about superstar Connor Bedard.
The Chicago Blackhawks it would seem have not taken too kindly to recent comments made by former National Hockey League forward Paul "Biznasty" Bissonnette, going so far as to use their social media platform to now roast the former NHLer.
This week Bissonette made headlines when he was highly critical of the play he was seeing out of Chicago Blackhawks star forward Connor Bedard, criticizing several aspects of Bedard's game before suggesting that Bedard's game in the NHL was more akin to something you would witness while watching pond hockey.
"There's so many little details to his game that he is lacking right now... they are gonna continue to lose hockey games if that's how he's playing," said Bissonette. "That is pond hockey, that's pond hockey."
When he was asked about the comments made by Bissonette on the TNT broadcast, Bedard largely dismissed the criticism, but it would seem that his team wasn't so willing to turn the other cheek.
On Friday night, the Blackhawks absolutely roasted Bissonnette by pointing out that Bedard's version of "pond hockey" had earned him as many points over the last 21 games that Bissonette had acquired over his entire career in the National Hockey League.
Check out this post from the Blackhawks social media team:
It's a pretty savage roast I can't lie and it may even be something of a low blow, but much to his credit it would seem that Bissonnette can take it as well as he can dish it out. Following the post from the Blackhawks on social media, Bissonette would draw more attention to it and even praised the Blackhawks for calling him out.
"I love this shit," wrote Bissonette. "Hockey’s poppin baby."
This is quickly turning into an entertaining feud off the ice, and perhaps this won't be the last we see of it this season.
