Fans were just waiting for it to be official and it was on Tuesday when the New York Rangers acquired Patrick Kane in a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks, reuniting the star forward with former teammate Artemi Panarin.
On Wednesday, fans were still awaiting for a reaction from the Bread Man, and the Rangers obliged, filming the Russian forward and his special quirky message to Kane.
Kane is expected to play his first game as a Ranger on Thursday as the Ottawa Senators will come to NYC.
Kane loved playing with Panarin for two seasons at the beginning of the Russian winger’s NHL career and had previously mentioned how he would love to reunite with him. He is hoping to get his hands on another Stanley Cup before hanging up the skates.
“This has been an emotional time for me and my family, but I feel this decision puts me in the best spot to immediately win another Stanley Cup,” Kane said in a release following the trade out of Chicago. “This isn’t about me leaving the Blackhawks, but this is an opportunity for me — the Blackhawks did everything they could to put me in a great position and I will forever be grateful.”
I am sure Panarin will make Kane feel right at home as soon as he joins the Rangers.
