Another uproar in USA-Germany game at WJC with Americans extremely frustrated!

And again, it was a looooooooong review! Watch below:

Germany was coming in closer to America in the second period of the first game on the World Junior Championship on Thursday.

Earlier in the first period, Team USA’s James Hagens appeared to score the first goal of the contest, however, the referee standing behind the net immediately called it off, adding that video review was needed to determine if the puck has crossed the line. It did, but as soon as the goal was allowed, Germany challenged the goal for goalie interference. The officials went back to the review and took a long time to see how Cole Hutson seemed to collide with Pertuch’s pads, causing him to spin out of control right before he was beaten by Hagens.

After the review, the referee went back to center ice to announced that the goal was good and that Germany was getting penalized for delay of game for the failed challenge…

In the second frame, it was Team USA’s turn to challenge a goal for offside as Germany’s Julius Sumpf’s right foot appeared to be on the ice at the moment that David Lewandowski entered the zone.

However, after a long review, the officials confirmed that the goal was good since that Lewandowski had not touch and carry the puck across yet.

This created so much uproar from the American fans, especially since Team USA got a minor penalty for delay of game with a chance for a possible miracle comeback!

(It was only a dream for the Germans, who ended up losing 10-4.)
