Another NHL preseason game gets delayed tonight!

This is the second game today with a schedule change.

Earlier today, we shared the news that The Tampa Bay Lightning’s preseason game tonight versus the Nashville Predators at AMALIE Arena has been rescheduled as the Tampa Bay region recovers from Hurricane Helene.

The storm has been quite something in the South hitting on Thursday as a Category 4 storm, causing record-breaking levels of storm surge in the Bay region. The New York Times reports that Helene has caused at least 14 deaths after flooding and mudslides hit from Florida to North Carolina.

Later on Friday, the Washington Capitals announced that tonight’s preseason game delayed until 8:15 PM seeing that their opponents, the Columbus Blue Jackets, were experiencing travelling issues.

The game was originally slated to begin at 7 p.m. ET but has been moved to accommodate the Blue Jackets’ late arrival.

According to the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Helene had maximum sustained winds estimated at 140 mph, and it is believed that more than 4.4 million customers were without power from Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.

It has also an impact on travel and planes being redirected.

Let all stay safe.
