Another Flyers prospect appears to quit on the team.

The Philadelphia Flyers appear to be on the verge of losing yet another one of their prospects, and after the whole Cutter Gauthier debacle earlier this year you have to wonder if the Flyers are doing a good enough job of making their young prospects feel comfortable.

This time the prospect in question is goaltender Alexei Kolosov, selected by the Flyers in the 3rd round (78th overall) of the 2021 National Hockey League Entry Draft, and by all accounts it would seem as though the Flyers have already lost him.

Although nothing has been made official yet, a report from Belarus Hockey indicates that Kolosov has already been spotted working out with his former team this summer, Minsk Dynamo of the Kontinental Hockey League. Making matters even worse for the Flyers is the fact that, according to the very same report, Kolosov has reportedly asked his former KHL team to help him get out of his NHL contract with the Flyers.

NBCS Philly's Jordan Hall reports that Kolosov was feeling homesick but adds that the Flyers still believe he will return in time for training camp, something that doesn't seem certain at all.

The thought of losing a second prospect in such short order is definitely a major red flag although it may be a situation that the Flyers have relatively little control over if Kolosov does indeed want to remain in his home country. 

We have already seen one NHL contract terminated for the very same reason, with now former Carolina Hurricanes forward Evgeny Kuznetsov agreeing to terminate his deal in order to return home to play in the KHL, and it is starting to sound more and more like Kolosov could soon follow that same path back home.
