Another blow to controversial defenseman Tony DeAngelo

Controversial defenseman Tony DeAngelo appears to have run out of chances in the National Hockey League, and could be forced to play overseas. 

According to multiple reports, DeAngelo could be heading to the KHL after becoming the first player in NHL history to have been bought out from a contract on two separate occasions: 

DeAngelo made headlines in hockey circles for several behavioral issues that resulted in multiple benching as well as a confrontation with former teammate Alexandar Georgiev as well as controversial posts on social media. 

He was also suspended on multiple occasions by the NHL. During the 2016-17 season while a member of the Arizona Coyotes, he was suspended for three games for verbally abusing linesman David Brisebois.

He was also suspended on a pair of occasions while playing for the Sarnia Sting of the OHL in 2014 for violations of their League policy. 

In 371 career NHL games with the New York Rangers, Arizona Coyotes, Carolina Hurricanes and Philadelphia Flyers, DeAngelo has scored 48 goals with 162 assists.
