A follow up report on Brock Boeser that Canucks fans won't like

Just yesterday Tocchet said it was 'day to day'... what gives?

UPDATE: Vancouver Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal is reporting today that Canucks forward Brock Boeser is expected to be out of the team's lineup long-term and is not 'day to day' as head coach Rick Tocchet stated yesterday.

Read below for our earlier report on this developing story, published yesterday.

This past weekend the Vancouver Canucks announced that leading scorer Brock Boeser would be out of the team's lineup indefinitely after suffering an upper body injury due to a headshot hit from Los Angeles Kings forward Tanner Jeannot.

Jeannot was suspended three games for the hit and it was suspected that Boeser suffered a concussion on the play.

Now, just a couple days after Boeser's injury announcement, head coach Rick Tocchet has updated Boeser's status to 'day to day'.

From Canucks insider Brendan Batchelor:

Boeser, it should be noted, has a pretty significant injury history over the course of his 9 year NHL career but it's believed that this is his first concussion. There's a possibility that Boeser has had a quick recovery, but there's also the possibility that Tocchet is simply playing his cards cautiously.

“These things change. They could change in a week or 24 hours, I don’t know," Tocchet said regarding Boeser's status just this past weekend.

Again, its possible that things changed, as Tocchet alluded to but it's also possible that he's simply being strategic regarding his top scorer's status. Stay tuned.
