65-year-old goalie takes part in Sharks’ practice!
Unbelievable story of NHLers sharing a dressing room with rec players and this happens:
The San Jose Sharks are getting ready to face the Rangers in New York on Thursday night and practiced at Chelsea Piers on Wednesday.
However, Chelsea Piers’ dressing room is shared with adult rec players because there isn’t a private room for NHL teams. As practice ended for San Jose, the goalie of the rec team asked if he could take some shots from the pros as ESPN’s Greg Wyshynski that the man is 65 years old.
That had to lighten up the mood for the Sharks, who are getting a boost up front for the contest against the Blue Shirts. Barclay Goodrow skated on the top line and is set to be part of the lineup on Thursday to face his former team.
Goodrow spent three seasons with the Rangers and played 241 regular season games. The relationship with the team went sour during the 2024 offseason, as the forward was waived and claimed off by San Jose. Reports have shared that the whole progress infuriated Goodrow.
This is the projected lineup for the Sharks vs. New York:
Goodrow-Celebrini-Toffoli
Eklund-Granlund-Zetterlund
W. Smith-Wennberg-Dellandrea
Grundstrom-Sturm-Kunin
G. Smith & Kostin look to be extras
Walman-Ceci/Thompson
Ferraro-Liljegren
Thrun-Rutta
And no the 65-year-old will not be starting in this contest.
