24-year-old forward Sadecky, who collapsed during game, has died

On Friday, a disturbing report came out of Europe as forward Boris Sadecky, who played for Bratislava Capitals of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League, collapsed on the ice during a game against the Dornbirn Bulldogs.

At the time, it was reported that Sadecky fell to the ice and was rushed out to get to a nearby hospital. He was held in intensive care unit, and then, was said to be in stable condition. However, it has now been reported that Sadecky has passed away, per the Slovak media Šport.sk. He was just 24 years old

This is horrible, heart-breaking news. The team made this statement, translated from Slovak to the media:

“With deep sorrow in our hearts and regret, we announce the death of our player Boris Sádecký. We express our sincere condolences to family and friends. We will not disclose further information at this time after consulting with Boris’s family. We ask everyone to respect the privacy of the Sádecký family, “said the club’s director Dušan Pašek on the team’s website.

On Friday as the poor player collapsed on the ice, the game was ended and postponed to a later date. We cannot imagine what the team is going through at this time.
