18 scouts in attendance for Canadiens’ game last night!
Trade brewing in Montreal?

There is a unique goaltending situation in Montreal along with reports that Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes has recently been quite active on the phone! The Habs are constantly looking at ways to build a stronger future and many fans and pundits wouldn’t stunned to see a trade or two come to Montreal in the following weeks.
It’s clearly a well-known fact that the Canadiens are willing to listen to trade offers since, for Thursday night’s game against the Vegas Golden Knights, there were 18 different teams in attendance at the Bell Center to watch the action. It was the most scouts in attendance since the start of the 2023-24 season.
RDS’ Luc Gelinas shared the list of all 18 scouts present with one name jumping out of the page in former Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin, who came in watching for the Los Angeles Kings. Other scouts were from the Anaheim Ducks, Boston Bruins, Calgary Flames, Dallas Stars, Edmonton Oilers, New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Ottawa Senators, Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Seattle Kraken, St. Louis Blues and Washington Capitals. The Golden Knights also had a representative in the stands.
One team that wasn’t a surprise to see at the game is the Oilers, who have been looking at all options to fix their goaltending issues. While the arrival of new head coach Kris Knoblauch has given new life in Edmonton, there isn’t a confident sense that Stuart Skinner can be a trustworthy netminder for the long run. Habs goalie Cayden Primeau, who’s been mentioned as potential trade bait in recent weeks, was in net in Montreal, hence in front of all scouts including the Oilers’.
In a 6-5 loss to the Golden Knights, Primeau stopped 36 of the 42 shots he faced.
