It all happened when their pre-fight weigh-in boiled over. But here’s why:

Fans can barely wait for the historic fight between Mike Tyson and Youtube Jake Paul, which takes place later tonight and will be presented on Netflix. On Thursday, both weighed in ahead of their matchup and tempers flared when Tyson savagely slapped Paul across the face, which prompted the YouTuber to say after the attack:

“Mike Tyson, I thought that was a cute slap, buddy, but tomorrow you’re getting knocked out.”

He then added that he didn’t feel anything, which will only keep infuriating Tyson ahead of the Netflix showdown tonight.

We now know why Tyson slapped the crap out of Paul’s face. The legendary boxer explained to the New York Post that he hit the Problem Child because he disrespectfully stepped on his toes.

“I was in my socks and he had on shoes,” Tyson told The Post after the weigh-in. “He stepped on my toe because he is a f–king a–hole. I wanted to think it happened by accident. But now I think it may have happened on purpose.

“I was in a lot of pain. I had to reciprocate.”

A representative of Tyson wanted to add this when addressing The Post: “Jake has been poking the bear the whole time. Mike slapped the s–t out of him.”

Some fans were adamant that the slap was staged when the video was broken down into slow motion and got people speculating that it could have been staged, with the thought of Paul’s brother Logan Paul’s background and experience with the WWE.

The bout takes place later tonight in Texas and will be presented on Netflix. The slap won’t matter then.
