Zeev Buium pranked on his first day by Marc-Andre Fleury.
The Wild's newest star gets pranked on his first day by the NHL's most notoirious prankster.
The National Hockey League's most notorious prankster has found himself a fresh new target.
There has been a ton of buzz in Minnesota about the signing of former Minnesota Wild first round pick (12th overall) Zeev Buium and last week that hype turned into reality when Buium officially signed his entry level contract with his NHL team.
It was no doubt a magical moment for Buium and his family but it wouldn't be long before he got his first welcome to the NHL moment courtesy of none other than Minnesota Wild teammate Marc-Andre Fleury. Fleury was tragically held out of what may have been his last chance to start an NHL game, so with a little more free time on his hands he turned to his second favorite hobby, pranking.
The new arrival learned that the hard way on his very first day of the team, with Fleury getting him not once but twice on two separate occasions. Buium describes his first encounter with Fleury in the theatre room.
"I was sitting in the theatre and they told me to sit somewhere, and they pointed at the seat and I sat there," said Buium. "[Fleury] walked up and said 'that's my seat' and it wasn't actually."
Buium's comments elicited a howl of laughter from the gaggle of reporters standing around during his media scrum and it may very well have been that Fleury knew he would be mentioned during that scrum. As Buium was talking to reporters, Fleury casually walked by and tossed a towel over his face, once again drawing laughs from all of those in attendance including Buium himself.
Buium not only took it all in stride but appeared to be genuinely enjoying the attention, no doubt being pranked by the legendary Marc-Andre Fleury is a story he will be telling for years to come.
