William Lockwood receives multi-game suspension for hit on Marc-Andre Fleury.
The Florida Panthers forward has been suspended after delivering a blow to Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury.
The National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety has come down hard on Florida Panthers forward William Lockwood.
On Saturday, the Department of Player Safety announced that Lockwood would be suspended for the next 3 games as a result of the hit he delivered to Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury on Friday night. Fleury was attempting to play the puck behind his net when he was bumped by Lockwood, with Fleury eventually leaving the game as a result of the collision.
It was announced earlier tonight that Fleury would miss time as a result of the collision, something that no doubt played into the severity of Lockwood's suspension this evening.
