Wild reportedly preparing to ditch Marco Rossi
His tenure with the Wild appears to be coming to a close.
It was a breakout season for Minnesota Wild forward Marco Rossi, who appeared in all 82 regular season games while tallying 21 goals. Unfortuantely, he wasn't able to help the Wild to the postseason, and also happens to be a pending restricted free agent.
And it appears as though he's not in the long term plans of Wild general manager Bill Guerin. According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period in a piece detailing 25 players who are likely to be moved, the Wild have indicated to other teams that they're hoping to trade Rossi:
"As TFP first reported, the Wild have made Rossi available and are looking for a hockey trade, a talent-for-talent swap. Rossi is an RFA this July and plenty of teams will be calling."
Pagnotta then lists Philadelphia, Utah, Calgary, Montreal and Ottawa as potential suitors.
Rossi was selected with the 9th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft by the Wild, and has appeared in a total of 103 career NHL games. He's also represented his native Austria on the international stage.
