Was Steve Ott calling out his former team and Jeff Blashill?
On the trade deadline, veteran forward Steve Ott has been traded from the Detroit Red Wings to the Montreal Canadiens. Ott, 34-year-old, is a notorious pest around the league since the day he’s been drafted by the Dallas Stars.
It’s quite a turning point in his career as players with this style are becoming rare and are disappearing slowly. It might be his last chance with the Montreal Canadiens to take part in a playoff run before he retires.
Ott made an interesting comment yesterday that could be interpreted like he was calling out the Detroit Red Wings and his former head coach Jeff Blashill.
On the Montreal Canadiens work ethics, Ott said, “This is probably the hardest working team I’ve ever been a part of.” Which may leaves room for speculations on the Detroit Red Wings work ethic this year. Normally work ethics is dicted by the head coach of the organization. Was he also calling out Blashill?
What do you guys think? Should he have kept his mouth shut on this one?
