Just an hour before warmups for the game between the Senators and the Stars in Dallas, Ottawa has made a last minute roster move and team’s announcement, stating that forward Vladimir Tarasenko will miss the contest as he attends to a family matter.
The statement adds that the veteran forward has the full support of the team and that Rourke Chartier, who was expected to be one of the team’s two scratches, will dress in Tarasenko’s place.
Tarasenko was in the Senators’ lineup last night when his team faced off against the Blues in St. Louis. He played a total of 17 minutes and seven seconds and registered three shots on goal, though he did not record a point in Ottawa’s 4-2 loss.
This will be the first game of the 2023-24 season that Tarasenko misses.
The 32-year-old forward has recorded six goals and 19 points through 24 games, including eight points in his last 11 outings.
Chartier, who will suit up in his absence, has already put up goal and an assists in 24 outtings this year.
At the moment, it is unclear how long Tarasenko is expected to be out. More details are expected from the team following tonight’s match up in Dallas.
