Ville Husso injured just minutes into 1st start in nearly two months
Not at all how we wanted this night to go.

Yeah, this isn’t what we were hoping to see.
For whatever reason, the Detroit Red Wings decided to give goaltender Ville Husso his first start in nearly two months against the extremely deadly offense of the Edmonton Oilers rather than going with the hot hand of Alex Lyon.
And almost as quickly as his start began tonight, it was over. As he surrendered the game’s opening goal, injury was andded to insult thanks to his stretching awkwardly to unsuccessfully stop the shot from sniper Leon Draisaitl, and wasn’t able to continue.
Lyon is now in net, but unfortunately, he was given an extremely rude welcome to the game as he was promptly beaten for a 2-0 Oilers lead.
This was Husso’s first start since suffering a lower body injury at Little Caesars Arena against the Anaheim Ducks on December 18.
