The Minnesota Wild and their fan base can breathe a sigh of relief, at least according to a pair of extremely credible sources.

A pair of National Hockey League insiders have just shared a massive update on the injury status of Wild star forward Kirill Kaprizov, with both men claiming that their sources have confirmed that Kaprizov has avoided any type of serious injury.

The first to confirm the news was NHL insider Elliotte Friedman who simply reported that there was no serious injury to the Wild star.

That report was in turn followed uo by Minnesota Wild insider Michael Russo who went into slightly more detail. According to Russo, Kaprizov underwent an MRI on Sunday and was examined by the team's medical staff, both of which revealed that there is no serious injury.

Kaprizov was of course injured this past Thursday after a knee on knee collision with Edmonton Oilers veteran forward Drake Caggiula, a collision that appeared to be accidental. Kaprizov appeared to be in some discomfort following the collision but would play in the game's third period, initially alleviating any concerns.

Here is a look at that collision:

Those concerns quickly flared back up on Saturday however when it was revealed that Kaprizov would be held out of a game against the Calgary Flames, which many took as a sign that an injury had indeed been caused as a result of the collision with Caggiula.

Given the pair of updates we have now received from Friedman and Russo respectively, it sounds like whatever kept Kaprizov out of the lineup is likely to be relatively minor, with both men reporting that they expect the Wild to take a wait and see approach to how Kaprizov is feeling over the next few days.

Great news for fans of the Wild and great news for hockey fans as a whole as Kaprizov continues to show that he is one of the NHL's most dynamic players this season.
