Trevor Zegras demands Jay Beagle be 'punished' for his attack on Troy Terry.
Zegras is not happy.
The Anaheim Ducks are not happy about how both the Arizona Coyotes and the officials representing the National Hockey League treated their leading goal scorer in Tory Terry on Friday night. Now the players are letting their feelings on the incident be known to the general public, perhaps in the hopes of forcing the league to act on the matter.
For those of you who missed the incident in question, Terry was the victim of a very one sided beatdown during what was a 5 - 0 game in favor of the Ducks on Friday night. Terry took exception to a stiff crosscheck that was delivered by Coyotes veteran forward Jay Beagle onto the back of Terry's teammate Trevor Zegras, and Beagle proceeded to use that as an opportunity to deliver several unanswered punches to the head and face of Terry.
In spite of what the rather biased announcing you're going to hear in the clip below courtesy of former National Hockey League player Tyson Nash might lead you to believe, this came off as a rather over the top reaction from Beagle. As you will see in the clip, Beagle delivers several punches to Terry in spite of the fact that Terry never so much as gets his gloves off.
The attack left Terry bloodied up and forced him to head back into the Ducks locker room for repairs, and it was following the game that Trevor Zegras would give Beagle a piece of his mind. In a rather heated interview, Zegras revealed his disgust at the actions of Beagle and even went so far as to refuse to mention him by name at any point during the conversation. In spite of not naming Beagle however, Zegras did not hold back when it came to sharing his thoughts about the fact that he believes the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety needs to get involved.
"It’s humiliating and I think he should be f****** punished," said Zegras of Beagle's actions on the night.
Zegras had plenty more to say on the matter as well, and you can listen to all of it in the short clip below:
