The Boston Bruins have just made an announcement that head coach Jim Montgomery’s mother Dorothy has passed away. The team extended their condolences to the bench boss and his family, adding that Montgomery will travel to Montreal for the funeral service and will return to the team on Sunday, October 1st.
The Bruins are scheduled to play in a preseason contest in Boston against the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday. This means that Montgomery should be behind the bench for the preseason contest against the Flyers in Philly on Monday, October 2nd.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jim Montgomery and his family.
