Trade Alert: Blackhawks trade Anisimov in a rare one for one trade!

This just in, the Chicago Blackhawks have traded forward Artem Anisimov to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for forward Zack Smith.

TRADE ALERT: The #Blackhawks have acquired forward Zack Smith from the Senators in exchange for forward Artem Anisimov.

The 31-year-old played 70 games last season for the Senators scoring nine goals and adding a career-high 19 assists.

The trade is, in effect, a cash dump for the Blackhawks. In taking on Smith over Anisimov, the Blackhawks will free up $1.3 million in salary cap space per season for the next two years.
