Total of 24 players placed on waivers on Saturday.
A number of NHL teams have placed players on waivers on Sunday with a total of 24 players.
We have a huge number of waivers on Saturday, with a total of 24 players spread across a number of teams effectively up for grabs.
This is not unusual for this time of year as teams are starting to make significant cuts to their roster in training camp, but what also is not unusual is to see a player claimed by a rival team. All 24 players on today's waiver wire will be up for grabs, but any team making a claim will need to have the necessary contract and salary cap space to make that type of move make sense.
All of the teams placing players on waivers today are well aware of that risk, which strongly suggests that they do not see the players being waived as regulars in the National Hockey League.
