Todd Bertuzzi’s son Tag drops the gloves in first career fight

Love him or hate him, Todd Bertuzzi likely made an impression on you during the course of his 20 year NHL career. The tough, yet skilled, winger played 1159 career NHL games and put up a remarkable 314 goals, 770 points and 1478 penalty minutes. While he’ll likely always be remember for ending the career for former Colorado Avalanche forward Steve Moore when he viciously attacked him from behind in 2004, it’s important to remember that Bertuzzi was a dominant player in his heyday. 

As equally adept at dropping the gloves and taking care of business as he was at filling the net, Bertuzzi was an old school power forward in the mould of players like Brendan Shanahan and Cam Neely. Now, while now one is comparing Bertuzzi’s career achievements to those two Hall of Famers, it’s fair to say that Bertuzzi was as tough as anyone in the NHL. Now Bertuzzi’s son Tag Bertuzzi is attempting to take the same path to the NHL as his father, as evidenced by his first career fight with the OHL’s Guelph Storm.
