On Sunday, footage of Ottawa Senators’ Thomas Chabot went viral as the young defenseman went to smash his stick along the glass but ended up hitting his teammate Travis Hamonic right in the face. Chabot’s frustration quickly turned into worry as soon as he realized his horrible mistake.

Despite Chabot’s antics, the Senators got the 3-2 win over the Nashville Predators, but there was no way the blue liner could forget about his attack on his teammate.

On Tuesday, it was revealed that Chabot provided Hamonic with a package of gifts to apologize for the incident. Though he did not elaborate on what was exactly involved in his offerings, on Wednesday ahead of the game between the Senators and the Montreal Canadiens, TVA Sports’ Marc-Andre Perreault found out what it was: four expensive wine bottles and a trip to the spa for Hamonic and his wife.

With those gifts, even Perreault admits he wouldn’t mind getting hit in the face by Chabot.

Hamonic commented on what happened and how Chabot caught him in the face with his stick, but laughed it off with missing teeth.

“I was literally laughing about it. I was grateful no harm was done. I’m already missed my teeth, so we’re all good and move forward.”

Chabot was held scoreless in the Sens’ latest game against Nashville, but he had scored three goals and six assists in his previous five games. He added another assist in Monday's 3-0 shootout win over the Anaheim Ducks. If we forget about smashing his teammate’s face with a stick, Chabot can keep on going on the path he is currently on.
