The hockey world mourns the sudden loss of 17 year old star defenseman
RIP. Gone, but never forgotten.
The hockey world is mourning the tragic, sudden loss of a 17 year old star hockey player with the Idaho Falls Eagles.
Defenseman Carter Barnes tragically passed away as a result of injuries suffered in a car accident this past weekend. The standout blueliner had recently won Defenseman of the Year honors and was on track to continue his career beyond the junior ranks. Academically, Barnes was a high achiever. He received the Mayor's Scholarship and was part of the National Junior Honor Society. He competed nationally in the Business Professionals of America) and was on the fast track to earning his Associate’s Degree while still completing high school.
Needless to say, the world lost a special young man this past weekend.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Carter's friends, family and teammates at this extremely difficult time. Rest in peace, Carter Barnes.
