Stars owner throws Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn under the bus for the 4th offseason in a row

Just trade them already then...

It's the NHL offseason so you know what that means... time to hurl a pile of horsesh*t on top of Dallas Stars leaders Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin.

Yesterday afternoon, as he's done for the past four offseasons, Stars owner Tom Gagliardi pointed his finger directly at both Benn and Seguin saying point blank that the pair have been "underperforming offensively."

You may recall that a couple seasons ago then Stars CEO Jim Lites said, “They are fucking horseshit, I don’t know how else to put it," when asked about his two star players. Today Gagliardi didn't go quite that far, but it's fair to say that he did throw Benn and Seguin under the bus.

Check it out courtesy of Saad Yousef of The Athletic:

“We have far too many players who are underperforming offensively,” Gaglardi said. “We need something to change.”

“I think those guys signed those contracts and they’ve got to find a way to deliver that kind of value,” Gaglardi said. “If they don’t, it hampers the team. That’s the reality of it. They know that. I’ve talked to Jamie, he knows he’s got to find more. He’s working hard this summer. I met with him in Dallas after the season ended. He knows what he’s got to do… Those guys know they’ve got to bring more.

“You just hope that a little change at the top, a different voice, some tweaks and we can fix some of our structural problems, mostly on the offensive side of the puck. I think we’re close.”

For what it's worth Seguin is signed for five more seasons at $9.85 million and Benn is signed for three more seasons at $9.5 million. Soooooo... I don't think they will be going anywhere anytime soon. Unless, of course, both of them ask out of Dallas AND the team eats a ton of salary in a potential trade.
