Spittin' Chiclets crew buys an ECHL team!
Whoa! Who would have ever thought this just a few short years back!?!?!?
This just in, the Spittin' Chiclets crew of Paul Bissonnette, Ryan Whitney, Keith Yandle and Mike Grinnell have purchased a brand new ECHL team in Greensboro, North Carolina set to debut in the 2025-26 season.
The team name and logo will be revealed this evening.
Gotta be the Greensboro Gargoyles or something like that, right? Goblins?
In any case, how wild is this news?!?
As a long-time listener of the Spittin' Chiclets podcast I would have never predicted that the boys would one day be owners of a professional hockey franchise. Let alone owners of a team in one of the largest, longest standing professional hockey leagues in North America.
It just goes to show what hard work and sticking to your guns can do for you. Is the podcast for everyone? Certainly not. But you can't argue with what Bissonnette and Whitney, in particular, have built. They've created a media empire that now extends to team ownership by doing things their way and giving a middle finger to all the doubters and haters. Kudos to the boys for achieving this remarkable accomplishment.
