Speculative shenanigans by Lou Lamoriello on the free-agent market!
Could you imagine?!

There are still talented players available on the free-agent market and Tomas Tatar is one of them, still unsigned at this point in the offseason. He has been linked to a few contenders, including the Pittsburgh Penguins, Buffalo Sabres and Winnipeg Jets, but new reports have emerged that could explain why Tatar remains unsigned at the moment.
Mike Stephens of the Hockey News does not understand why Tatar remains unsigned and wonders if there are shenanigans are at play, all orchestrated by New York Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello.
“The only explanation is that shenanigans are at play – namely that Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello signed him back in July and just hasn’t gotten around to announcing it yet. That’s just Lou being Lou, baby.”
Stephens is clearly joking about this, but when you dig a little, you quickly find out that it wouldn’t be the first time Lou using such strategies to get the player he wants and play with numbers and deadlines to achieve it.
This is quite a funny conspiracy theory, but you have to wonder if thsi is the only way to explain that a guy like Tatar, who played in all 82 games for the New Jersey Devils last season, scoring 48 points, remains available.
Tatar could be used as a utility middle-six winger who could even move up the top six if needed on any roster at this point! There is no way he does not sign before puck drop on opening night, right?
Lou, come on, just spill the beans!
