He did it! On Tuesday, ahead of the game in Pittsburgh, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman wished that he could witness Sidney Crosby scoring his 500th goal in Toronto against the Maple Leafs on Thursday. But Sid did it at home against the Philadelphia Flyers. You can’t write it any better.
This is not only his 500th career goal, it is also his 150th power-play goal and his 50th against the Flyers! It is only fitting he scored it against the Philly. Evgeni Malkin recorded the lone assist on the goal.
Check it out:
The whole team jumped on the ice as Crosby scored on the power-play and celebrate the milestone. The crowd was roaring and kept chanting his name as he saluted the crowd.
His family was in the attendance for the great moment. His stick and the puck was kept - you know, that's going to the Hockey Hall of Fame.
