Sheldon Keefe slapped with a huge fine from the NHL!

As if losing his star player wasn’t enough… Now this. Full details below:

Chris Gosselin

New Jersey Devils head coach Sheldon Keefe was ejected from the game against the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday after his star player Jack Hughes was injured in the third period when he crashed into the boards. He was seen clutching his right wrist as he skated slowly back to the bench.

Keefe lost it at the bench, losing his mind on the officials and getting tossed from the game.

To add to it on Wednesday, the NHL announced that Keefe has been fined $25,000 for “unprofessional conduct directed at the officials” late in Sunday’s game at Vegas.

I find it great to see a coach have some passion especially when it’s in regards to their star players. And I’m sure for Keefe, it is worth every penny.

Plus, Keefe is no stranger to being ejected, as he was known to have a bit of a temperwhen he was coach behind the bench of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Devils are still awaiting a final update on Hughes’ condition as he missed team practice on Tuesday.

‘’Obviously, it didn’t look good,’’ Keefe said. ‘’We’re going to have to take our time to know the full extent of it.’’

Hughes, the former first overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, has put up 27 goals and 43 assists for 70 points on 62 games for New Jersey this season.
